Process
Photographed Treatments of a Theme/Subject:
Select a single theme or subject.
(e.g. foliage, children, children in poverty, sidewalks, crowds, profiles, signage, automobiles, hats, lifestyle....)
Explore ways to shoot images related to your theme/subject in different ways.
How might the casual, impromptu attitude of a snapshot be captured graphically? How would arrange such a photo?
How would a documentary image be set up? Would be like a magazine ad image? An image for a catalog?
What could you do to create a genuinely moving or evokative image? How might your image actually express a point of view about your subject/theme?
Plan, sketch and shoot pre-shots to explore compositions that treat your subject in distinctive ways.
Create & present 1 image that, to you, qualifies as snapshot. (shoot/edit at least 5; save 4+ as roughs)
Create & present 1 image that, to you, qualifies as a Documentary photo. (shoot/edit at least 5; save 4+ as roughs)
