Progressive Series

Art 200 / Greg Clayton

There are several variations on this design problem, each involving
a) establishing two extreme conditions and
b) developing gradual transitions between those extremes.

Series 1: Order-Disorder via simple motif

5-design series based on simple, bold motifs.

Goals:

Become conscious of the characteristics of order itself.
Refine skills and perceptions involved in creating and controlling degrees of order within designs.

Graphic Objectives:

Establish a highly-orderly design that is also visually interesting.
Establish a thoroughly random design.
Develop a gradual transition between the first two.
