540 N. Michigan Avenue / one block west, cross Michigan then left/south...it is (apparently) in the Marriot

Quick, Easy, Diverse:
— Macy's. 111 N State St (a full city block of store)
If you're in the loop and want some quick/easy food options, Macy's lists seven different restaurants from their upscale ($$$) Walnut Room (7th floor) to Marketplace Foods, a very diverse food court (many healthy options) in the basement.
[ Macy's is about 2 blocks west of The Bean/Millenium Park. Enter from Washington, Randolf, State or Wabash.) 7• blocks north of the hostel, on either Wabash or State. ]
— James R. Thompson Center/State of Illinois Blg. 100 W. Randolf (distinctive all-glass slanted-cone building with white Dubuffet sculpture outside) Has a food court and restaurants accessed from the large interior rotunda — though much of the food court is standard fast food. [ 5 blocks west of Millenium Park, on Randolf ]

Thai Spoon and Sushi: 601 S Wabash Ave. (map)
MyThai: (map)Chinatown: Chinatown is one of Chicago's most developed ethnic communities — plenty of restaurants and shops. [ About 1-1/2 miles south of the hotel. Take the subway (Red Line) south to the Cermak-Chinatown station. Then walk west, then south a couple of blocks.] (map)
Greektown: Near west side, along Halsted Street, between Madison and Van Buren. [Take the subway (Blue Line) to UIC-Halsted, then walk north a couple of blocks.](map)
LIttle Italy: Near west side, around Taylor and Halsted. [Take the subway (Blue Line) to UIC-Halsted station, then walk south several blocks. OR take Bus38 directly to Taylor/Halsted] (map)
Mexican: Lower west side, neighborhood of Pilsen, along 18th Street, between South Damen Ave and South Halsted. Try Nuevo Leon or Cafe Jumping Bean (incl. works by local artists). [Take the El train (Pink Line) to 18th station.] (map)
