There are endless options — several popular restaurants, delis and coffee shops are listed below.
Most of these are near the hotel.
For more ideas, just ask at the hotel's info desk — they know the nearby area well.

215 East Grand Avenue/~1block south then east/"Great place for American breakfasts...Much cheaper than hotels and much more fun....CASH only" (its the little 1-story shop on the south side)

676 North Saint Clair Street/ 1-1/2 block north of hotel.

54 East Ontario Street/~2-1/2 blocks east/"Amazing Bakery, best place for breakfast! ...a place to get good take out"
Eggsperience
35 W Ontario St At N Dearborn St/ 1 block north, 5 blocks west/ Reviews says its worth the wait if you love omelettes.

There are several Starbucks within 2 blocks of the hotel:
(closest) 165 East Ontario Street/ one block north, then left/west 1/4 block, on the south side.
540 N. Michigan Avenue / one block west, cross Michigan then left/south...it is (apparently) in the Marriot
444 N Michigan Avenue (?) / two blocks south, the right/west
255 East Grand Avenue/ 1 block south, then left/east 1/2 block on south side.
Dunkin Donuts is across the street...east side.
Argo Tea Cafe is across the street...south side, on the corner.

Chicago's Hard Rock Cafe:   63 West Ontario Street, five blocks west of Michigan, east of Clark, on the south side.
(312) 943-2252. [ Take the subway (Red Line) north to Grand, then walk north 2 blocks to Ontario, then left/west 1-1/2 blocks. ] (map)

Quick, Easy, Diverse:   
— Macy's

111 N State St (a full city block of store)
If you're in the loop and want some quick/easy food options, Macy's lists seven different restaurants from their upscale ($$$) Walnut Room (7th floor) to Marketplace Foods, a very diverse food court (many healthy options) in the basement.
[ Macy's is about 2 blocks west of The Bean/Millenium Park. Enter from Washington, Randolf, State or Wabash.) 7• blocks north of the hostel, on either Wabash or State. ]
— James R. Thompson Center/State of Illinois Blg. 100 W. Randolf (distinctive all-glass slanted-cone building with white Dubuffet sculpture outside) Has a food court and restaurants accessed from the large interior rotunda — though much of the food court is standard fast food. [ 5 blocks west of Millenium Park, on Randolf ]

Chinatown: Chinatown is one of Chicago's most developed ethnic communities — plenty of restaurants and shops. [ About 1-1/2 miles south of the hotel. Take the subway (Red Line) south to the Cermak-Chinatown station. Then walk west, then south a couple of blocks.] (map)
Greektown: Near west side, along Halsted Street, between Madison and Van Buren. [Take the subway (Blue Line) to UIC-Halsted, then walk north a couple of blocks.](map)
LIttle Italy: Near west side, around Taylor and Halsted. [Take the subway (Blue Line) to UIC-Halsted station, then walk south several blocks. OR take Bus38 directly to Taylor/Halsted] (map)
Mexican: Lower west side, neighborhood of Pilsen, along 18th Street, between South Damen Ave and South Halsted. Try Nuevo Leon or Cafe Jumping Bean (incl. works by local artists). [Take the El train (Pink Line) to 18th station.] (map)
